2014 State file

Take Note: I personally prefer private donations, and would like to veer completely away from any government monies/grants..

The highest amount of donations have come from: Private donors, and that Is what I prefer! = not being from: grants/government...I appreciate past MOHF grants, but private donations are prefered;I will be contacting the IRS VERY SOON! To Make sure they understand the concept.

I want everyone to know, and understand, that This Is mine and my husbands home,out-buildings,and personal property = It Is all paid with My/Our personal account, including: Insurances,Taxes.. are paid  with my/our personal account-monies.I absolutely  love my beautiful bear facilities, and rehabilitating, and observing bears, and educating the general public ,and I   just want to set the record straight, and that Is; that we are not a government run organization! If the IRS Is not aware of this, and If I need to make changes within the 501c3 for any particular reason that may be suggesting that we are; I will be Making changes. Listen ;I respect many others whom work with  bears, and I have a good communication for the most part with Maine State biologist,I am not saying it is perfect, but they certainly understand I do not play games, nor am I In the mood = We eventually get things worked out..I dislike special interest, ridiculous red tape, government, union influence at times = any sort of power grab! I have had some communication issues with MDIFW,and too past CPA's, Accountants...But I am moving forward ,and simply have been trying to get everything worked out and resolved.

Sincerely,
Dawn L. Brown

Second Chance Wildlife,Inc. Is Now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit . The IRS has received all forms needed, and necessary for filing and has now approved! I have also Starter cost/fee: Submitted the 990-N file;this has been processed. A $750.00 user fee to the IRS was  sent certified mail 5-15-09.Though we have only received small donations in the past couple years (all donations are listed on the website) A budget has been created in hope to gain some larger donations. (Everything is money & time) First donations appeared In: 2007,2008,2009,2010,2011,2012,2013.. Me and my husbands deposited personal monies /  deposited into my Second Chance Wildlife,Inc. account.I,nor my husband have ever made earnings until 2014-I have paid myself a total of ~4000  I have been a Maine licenced Rehabilitator since 1997 = I care for cubs observe them, and document development, behavior, educate,I do all the books, run my fb page, website, and youtube channel, and work  on my facilities with my husbands much appreciated help! I hope to be able to pay him too for rhe time , work,he has contributed. This journey for me  has  purely been my passionate hobby over the years, and now after 17 years = 2014 is the 1st time I have actually paid myself .
Begining /starter cost for:The Foundation Group was: $1,200.00-phase I & II. also 990-N preparation $100.00 for a couple years, and I have filed there after (the foundation group prepared forms for the 501c3,and I do thank them, but there are times; I  had questions Indeed for why some things may be worded a certain way;after a while they prefer to not answer questions.I will often question; because I like to make sure everything is reviewed thoroughly, by making sure we are in agreement the way everything is prepared, and it is accurate/correct. I also send The State of Maine annual report filing fee cost of: $85.00 yearly fee.In refernce to The 501c3 On: 8-13-09 I faxed over additional information/forms that were required for the IRS to complete the application process for: Second Chance Wildlife, Inc.(regarding the 1023 application,8821 form.)
2014 Update : I have filed-2013 990N e-postcard,and  I will be making some changes within the bylaws= I will be working on this process, and will be contacting the IRS with a written letter format descibing the changes, and my sugestion to the IRS.Is that they will comply, and follow through with my request.
