I am thankful to own 5 acres, along with my husband , and to have it fenced in  for my bears. I have been a Maine wildlife rehabilitator & researcher/observer for 18 years. My husband Is Not a wildlife rehabiltator..  I greatly do apprciate him for helping me work on my 5 acre bear facility. and the continuous upkeep. I am very thankful for so much , and feel truly blessed to have one of the largest "Bear rehabilitation behavioral Research Facilities in the Country" It has been a great deal of hard work over the years and continues to be...

Hard work - honesty - bear rehabilitation , research - real money figures/accountability ; Is what  I focus my attention on.

I am 100% shareholder / Second Chance Wildlife, Inc. Founder, President & Executive Director... I have got to say - Anyone whom wants to view my tax returns ,statements/or emails...I seriously could care less! I am honest to the best of my human ability ,and because of that ; believe me - I fear pretty much No One!

Me & My Husband Michael have resided/lived in New Sharon Maine for 27/28 years .We are thankful to be land owners ,and have paid , and continue to pay, and have worked very hard for it! We absolutely love it here, and manage our land, and are grateful for so much!!

Watch video - go to this link. It sure has been alot of work and thought throughout the years. I have got to say - That we were not guided in the construction - We had a great deal of knowledge with past experiences. I cant say that we didn't have a few glitches in the process, but being hands on working ;that is what guided us to figure it out on our own. I am blessed to have one of the largest bear facilities in the Country.

I am the only immediate caretaker for my bears

Second Chance Wildlife,Inc. Is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit  "THAT MAY CHANGE"  = THOUGH I HAD RECEIVED ALETTER FROM THE IRS NEARLY A YEAR LATER AFTER HAVING HAD TRIED TO CONTACT THE IRS WITH A FORMAL LETTER;THAT I HAD SENT THEM.THE LETTER IA RECEIVED DIDNT MAKE MUCH SENCE - I SENT MY ACCOUNTANT A COPY.
PRIOR: The IRS had received all forms needed, and necessary for filing and has now approved . I have also Starter cost/fee: Submitted the 990-N file;this has been processed. A $750.00 user fee to the IRS was  sent certified mail 5-15-09. All donations are listed on my  Face Book Page !  Everything is money & time, but monies are not everything to me - honesty and integrity are 1st  Me and my husbands have deposited personal monies prior  / into my Second Chance Wildlife,Inc. account.I,nor my husband have ever made earnings until recently /past couple years  = In 2014  I had paid myself a total of ~4000, and 2015 I paid myself  thus far ~1300)  I have been a Maine licenced Rehabilitator since 1997 = I care for cubs ,yearlings ,and observe them, and document development, behavioral patterns,I too educate, and I do all the books, run my fb page,my website, and my youtube channel, and work  on my facilities with my husbands much appreciated help!! I hope to be able to pay him too for the time - work,that he has contributed. This journey for me  has  purely been my passion  over the years, and now after 18 years = 2014 is the 1st time I have actually paid myself.I hope that it will truly turn into my career - from my life long gradually gained knowledge and experience of  working with bears - having had gained a different prospective  than most.Time is what has given me answers to questions.
Begining /starter cost for:The Foundation Group was: $1,200.00-phase I & II. also 990-N preparation $100.00 for a couple years, and I have filed there after (the foundation group prepared forms for the 501c3,and I do thank them, but there are times; I  had questions Indeed for why some things may be worded a certain way;after a while they prefer to not answer questions.I will often question; because I like to make sure everything is reviewed thoroughly, by making sure we are in agreement the way everything is prepared, and it is accurate/correct. I also send The State of Maine annual report filing fee cost of: $85.00 yearly fee.In refernce to The 501c3 On: 8-13-09 I faxed over additional information/forms that were required for the IRS to complete the application process for: Second Chance Wildlife, Inc.(regarding the 1023 application,8821 form.)
2014 Update : I have filed-2013 990N e-postcard,and  I made changes within the bylaws= I contacted the IRS with a written letter format descibing the changes.
